Why are the Augustinians of Korea included here? The answer is simple: as a smaller contingent within the Order of St Augustine, they need to be affiliated with an Augustinian Province.

The Augustinian Delegation of Korea is included here because, as a smaller contingent within the Order of St Augustine, they need to be affiliated with an Augustinian Province. Because of this, the OSA Provincial Council in Australia is required for assent of the major decisions made by the Delegation Council in Korea, which makes all other decisions locally. The Australian Province is their Province also.

Great Steps at Yeoncheon

Great steps! The Augustinian Delegation of Korea has built on a donated property a complex that eventually will contain a priory, novitiate, church / columbarium and a retreat house which when completed will be able to cater for up to forty “live in” retreatants. The columbarium is a Korean tradition for reverently preserving the cremated ashes of the deceased.

OSA cardinal visits south korea

To celebrate progress on a building project for a retreat apostolate in the Diocese of Uijongbu, north of Seoul, the Augustinian Delegation of Korea invited Cardinal Prospero Grech O.S.A. from Rome to celebrate the completion of the first stage of the project.

A new Augustinian leader in Korea

In January 2015 it was announced that after a ballot Brother Salesio Lee osa was appointed the delegation superior of the Augustinian Delegation of Korea, which is part of the Australasian Augustinian Province.

Thirty Years in Korea

The day of 6 September 2015 marked the thirtieth anniversary of the arrival of the first friars of the Order of St Augustine in Korea. These were two Australian and two English priests, one of whom still serves in Korea today.
