Augustinians are committed to the welfare of the Indigenous peoples of Australia. For several years now, Fr. Robert Greenup OSA has been involved in the Indigenous Connections ministry in the Diocese of Cairns. With Deacon Ralph Madigan, an Aboriginal minister based in Mareeba, Father Robert has been working with the Indigenous communities in Cape York Peninsula and the Gulf Country as well as to the islands of the Torres Strait. He and Deacon Ralph are also involved with Indigenous people living in the larger urban centres of Mareeba and Cairns where regular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Masses are held.
