To coincide with the centenary of the parish recently, the Centenary Committee published a book about the parish church.
“The Basilican Church of St James, Coorparoo: a Pastor and his Church” is a large book of sixty-four pages, with colour images on quality art paper. Recently written by Father Peter Hayes O.S.A. of Coorparoo (photo at right), it is a wonderful record of the architecture of this splendid church building.
St James’s Church models an ancient Christian basilica in the Romanesque style, and was built in 1926.
