The Villanova College-Green Team ran a raffle during the Environment day last August 5th. Entries to the raffle ($2) was to help buy some saplings which will be planted in the Finger Gully near Majestic Park, Coorparoo later this year. So, the students are directly creating a greener Coorparoo.
The Green team composed of 5 staff members and 10 Senior School students had an excursion to the Finger Gully to prepare the ground for the new trees by transporting mulch. The stretch of land reaching up the hill from Majestic Park is a hidden gem of inner city woodland. It is good to know that Villanova College will be contributing new trees to open a Coorparoo suburb onto a new canopy of native trees and greener habitat for local birds and animals. Thanks to past parents Robert and Naomi Jansen with their son Reece (Old Boy 2019) for their generous support, passion, and know-how that took the Green team into the next level in responding to the call to care for creation.
