The forty-one major superiors of the order, priors provincial and the superiors of vicariates and delegations gathered in Rome on 16 June 2014 for a five-day meeting with the Augustinian Prior General and Curia. They discussed matters relating to the program of the Order for the next six years.
The theme of the Order’s General Chapter of September 2013 was followed once again: THE UNITY OF THE ORDER IN SERVICE TO THE GOSPEL
This included a call to deeper and more constant spirituality, prayer and Augustinian charism, a reinvigoration of the communal ideal and of community life, increased links and co-operation among provinces of the Order, greater attention to a spirit of poverty, additional communication throughout the Order, further allegiance to Gospel values, a more Christian response to the global economic situation, and unity of heart as affirmed in the Rule of St Augustine.
Among practical matters reviewed was the promotion of Augustinian life so that others will join the Order.
